Some Restaurant Stuff aka Dueling Tapas!

This blog allows Lisa and myself to express our eating experiences in South Jersey. It also gives us a chance to be of service to you folks out there. The Festivals of Food is one way we try to provide a service. Another way is to post special deals that local restaurants are running as a way to attract customers. In the current economic environment, people are going to be considerably more selective in how they spend their disposable income. Restaurants are keen to this notion, and are having more affordable fixed priced meals.

Which brings me to the title of this post.

It’s not every day that you have an Italian restaurant offering a Tapas Night, but when TWO Italian restaurants are having a Tapas Night the same night, now that’s something special. And tonight, that’s exactly what you have. Anthony’s Creative Italian Cuisine in Haddon Heights and Bacio Italian Cuisine in Cinnaminson are both offering a multi-course tapas-style meal for $45. Bacio’s event starts at 6:30, and Anthony’s starts at 7:00. Mangia bene, por favor!

In other restaurant news, The Press of Atlantic City has an article today about the newest Stephen Starr restaurant to hit AC: Chelsea Prime. If you don’t know the name Stephen Starr, the restaurateur from Philly, you probably know his restaurants: The Continential, Buddakan, and Morimoto, to name a few. Located at the new Chelsea hotel, it sounds like they didn’t spare the schwanky-ness.

By the way, don’t sleep on the Festivals of Food; I’ve already added four more events since Monday, bringing the total number to 62. And it all gets started tomorrow, but more on that, well, tomorrow.
