I still love Halloween. I love how excited my son Julian gets about wearing his costume – he’s Optimus Prime this year, y’know – and going out for tricks and treats. I love watching It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and I just want to know what kind of people would keep rocks by the door to give to kids instead of candy…I mean, really. I love seeing the little kids in cute costumes. I love the chill in the air that lets you know November is peeking around the corner. And, if there’s any leftover candy…well, I love that too.
I’d like to have more to write about, but I’m too involved with the World Champion Phillies parade right now, so let’s get to the Festivals of Food events for the weekend:
On Saturday, you have the Riverbank Chowder Cook-Off & Seafood Festival taking place on the Riverfront Promenade in historic Burlington as well as the Spirits and Spirits event at Smithville Mansion.
New Egypt is having its Fall Harvest Festival and Oyster Dinner on Sunday.
And, on Saturday and Sunday, Sharrott Winery is having its own Fall Festival.

Hey…why do they call them cranberries? Find out here.
And talk about your cheap date…don’t be this guy.
