I know we’ve been busy with the new baby, but wow are we ever speeding towards the holidays. We haven’t even started decorating the house! Yikes!
Here’s your Festivals of Food schedule for this weekend:
On tap for tomorrow is the Christkindlmarkt at the Tuckerton Seaport, the Gingerbread House Contest at the Burlington County Historical Society, and the Victorian Holiday Gathering at the Absecon Lighthouse.
As always, click on the Festivals of Food link on the right for more information.
If these events don’t float your boat (and what’s wrong with you if that’s the case), you could always hit the Holiday Cheer Party at Natali Vineyards, OR, have Lunch with the Troops at The Battle of Iron Works re-enactment in Mount Holly on Saturday.
Got lots of news items to catch up on, so let’s get on with the catching up…
Carolina Blue Smokehouse and Taproom in Mantua took its name a little too seriously this past week by catching on fire. Thankfully, it was small and the restaurant is back up and running.
First Burlington County, now Cumberland County wants to preserve more farmland.
Here’s an article about the benefits of being part of a natural foods co-op.
And, a potential robbery was foiled – thanks to a suspicious delivery order.
Monday is the big “Blogging Out Hunger” event – and Deb Smith at http://www.jerseybites.com/ has been working like crazy to get together 100 Jersey bloggers to participate (she’s really close now). I paid a visit to the Southern Branch of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey down in Egg Harbor Township today, and will post about it on Monday.
