So…I’ve made a decision: come up with another list of items today, and between last Friday and today you’ll have enough options from which to choose. Well, that’s my story anyway, and I’m sticking to it.
The Press of Atlantic City and the Courier-Post have stories this week about local places to get your corned beef and cabbage (and beer, of course) fix.
Whole Foods in Marlton is having two different St Patty’s Day related offerings: a free tasting from 1PM to 3PM tomorrow, and $3 corned beef sandwiches on Monday from 11:30AM to 1:30PM, with the proceeds going to Cathedral Kitchen in Camden.
Want some dancing with your Irish fare? Well OK, how about a St Patty’s Day Social at Shannon Caterers in Atco tomorrow night? The event is from 7PM to 11PM, and for $35 you get dinner, dancing and an open bar. The proceeds from this event benefit the Berlin Township P.E.A.C.E. (Parent and Educator Alliance for Child Enrichment). Irish food and music will also be the main features at the St Patrick’s Day Celebration at Laurita Winery in New Egypt on Sunday from 2PM to 5PM. Admission is free. And, a pre fixe Irish dinner and traditional music are on tap on the 17th at Cafe Madison in Riverside.
And if you want something to do that doesn’t involve corned beef, cabbage, potatoes or Irish stouts??? You like wings? They’re having a Hot Wing Challenge at The Grand Marketplace on Route 130 in Willingboro (my old hometown) tomorrow starting at 2PM. We’re planning on going there; we’ve been meaning to check out their Amish market anyway. Two birds, please say hello to this one stone.
The Spring edition of the Festivals of Food should be ready by Monday. If not, then sometime next week. Got a lot of good things already on the list.
