Coming up at the end of May is an event called Chef Wars, which is being organized by the good folks at South Jersey Hot Chefs. This competitio…oh fleh, this is no good. I need to talk about this in a bigger and bolder way.

That’s better. So, you get the idea: Chef Wars is competition between members of SJ Hot Chefs. Eight member chefs will compete in single-elimination home-and-home match-ups, meaning that each chef will have a chance to cook at their own restaurant, then at the other chef’s place. Winners are determined by the diners. And if there’s a tie, it’s either penalty kicks or away goals (heh heh – soccer humor). Anyway, get more of the details here.
The only Festival of Food event not happening this weekend is the Strawberry Festival at Sweet Life Bakery in Vineland. Chef Stephen sent out an email this week to make this announcement, as well to say that the new date will be June 6th.

Bruce Springsteen has donated tickets to his upcoming concerts at the Izod Center to Community FoodBank of New Jersey. The tickets are being auctioned off, with the proceeds going to help the FoodBank.
