It’s Spring Break time, and you know what that means: a whole week with the kids at home!

Oh come now, it can’t be that bad. Now just come off that ledge, put down the hot poker, and listen.
Your friendly neighborhood libraries, cooking schools and farms have available fun food classes for your young ones this week.
Let’s start with the libraries. We love the Ocean County Library system for a number of reasons, one of which is the number of food events and demonstrations they offer during the year. This week, they have a Budding Chefs: Spring Break class for kids ages 5 to 8 at the Point Pleasant Beach Branch today at 2:30PM. Tomorrow, the Barnegat Branch, there will be a Slightly Less Epic Meal Time class for kids in Grades 7 to 12 at 7PM. Both classes are free to attend, but you do need to call in advance to reserve a spot.
If you want your kids outside and enjoying the springtime weather, Johnson’s Corner Farm is holding a Children’s Garden Planting Class from April 9 to April 13 at 11AM, 12PM and 1PM. Kids will learn how to plant four different crops at a cost of only $3.50 per child.
And, for the foodie children in your family, Sur La Table in Marlton is conducting a Kids 3-Day Spring Break Camp for kids ages 8 to 12 and a Teens 3-Day Spring Break Camp for kids ages 13 to 17. The camps will be held from April 10 to April 12, and the cost is $120 per child.
