Stephen Wilson and Jill McClennen are always doing cool things at their Sweet Life Bakery location in Vineland. This Saturday, they have something really cool and special happening. It’s so great in fact that I will let them do most of the talking (which might be a relief to some of you):
The Sweet Life Bakery is excited to announce a last minute musical addition to the latest American tour of DisCanto, an Abruzzo (Italy) based quintet dedicated to the preservation and performance of traditional Abruzzese folk music. The band will perform an intimate set in the bakery that will not soon be forgotten.
The Sweet Life Bakery is partnering with Le Virtu, the acclaimed Philadelphia restaurant headed by 2012 James Beard Semi-Finalist Award Chef Joe Cicala and owner Francis Cratil. Le Virtu will be preparing traditional style ‘bar bites’ for the attendants at the conclusion of the performance. A sampling of wines from Abruzzo will be served as well. The Sweet Life Bakery will be making Italian breads and pastries, in addition to hosting the event.
The event is being billed as a cultural musical performance followed by food, drinks, and good times socializing with both the band and chefs, as well as fellow music lovers.
Tickets are $25 with all proceeds going to the band, so that they can continue to spread their musical magic here in America. The event starts at 7pm on Saturday April 14th. Call 856-692-5353 to reserve tickets. Plentiful parking is available. Seating is very limited, so call today!
