Chefs Mark Smith and Jim Malaby have a treasure trove of Jersey peaches and aren’t afraid to use them.
Chef Mark’s Tortilla Press in Collingswood and Chef Jim’s blueplate in Mullica Hill are taking advantage of the current peach harvest and will be serving up a ‘Just Peachy’ menu this week.
Take a look at the menu that will be available at Tortilla Press on August 8 and 9:
Peach & Goat Cheese Salad with mixed greens & minted balsamic vinegar dressing
Fried Sweet Plantains with Peach Habanero Dipping Salsa
Sautéed Chicken Breast with Lemon Peach Butter
Sauce Garnished with fresh chopped cilantro and served with pobalno~spinach rice & vegetable medley
Grilled Marinated Pork Loin with ancho chile & peach cider glaze
Garnished with fresh peach salsa and served with mashed potatoes, sautéed zucchini & gold bar squash
Grilled Shrimp & Peach Salsa
Featuring the Food Bank of South Jersey’s “Just Peachy Salsa” & Served with coconut rice & vegetable medley
Peach, Walnut & Mascarpone Empanada
with Cajeta Drizzle & vanilla bean ice cream
Brown Sugar & Butter Peach Tangle with Cinnamon Ice Cream
The Just Peachy menu will be available for $21.95 per person.
Meanwhile…down in Mullica Hill…
blueplate will be serving its Just Peachy menu with peaches from Holtzhauser Farms. Are their peaches any good?
Good? How about 2012 Governors Cup Award good?
blueplate’s Just Peachy dinner will be a three-course meal for $25 per person. One of the menu items is a chilled buttermilk and white peach soup, which sounds absolutely scrumptious.
