Eating, Drinking and Cooking in South Jersey This Weekend (9/21-23)

Well, it’s already Friday night, so let’s get to the rest of the weekend…

All this weekend, you got two big food celebrations going on in Ocean County: the Greek Festival at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church in Toms River, and Que by the Sea on Grant Avenue in Seaside Heights. Both events are free to attend, and both promise to have lots of meat served.

Saturday offers a number of interesting selections. If you way Down Jersey, you have the annual Crab & Craft Festival at the Lower Alloways Creek Ruritan Club as well as the BBQ-n-Chili Cook Off on Landis Avenue in Vineland.

Over in Burlington County, the Chesterfield Township Historical Society is having a Gourmet Wine Tasting Dinner at 6PM at their headquarters in Crosswicks. Dinner, which is being provided by Oliver a Bistro (doncha know) is $90 per person.

While we still have the warm weather, why not have a Feast in the Fields? That’s just wheat they will be doing at Duffield’s Farm Market in Washington Twp, brought to you by SJ Hot Chefs. From 4PM to 7PM, a four-course dinner will be served by Anthony’s Creative Italian Cuisine. The cost is $45 per person.

And Saturday and Sunday is the annual Wine & Beer Fest at Heritage Vineyards in Mullica Hill. Wine, beer, food, music, the beautiful outdoors…do you really need more incentive?

Brauhaus Schmitz on South Street in Philadelphia is have a whole week of Oktoberfest fun starting Monday!

Here is the cooking class schedule for the rest of the weekend:

Saturday: Luscious Fall Macarons and Great Mediterranean Fish Dishes at Sur La Table in Marlton, Homemade Pasta at The Culinary Arts Center at Burlington County College in Mount Holly, Vegas Steakhouse at Viking Cooking School at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, and “A” is for Apple at Kitchen Kapers in Moorestown.

Sunday: Chocolate 101 at Sur La Table and Entertaining Fall Dinner Party at Viking Cooking School.
