Restaurant News and Notes

Was a busy busy weekend of tasting for us. Spent the afternoon on Saturday sampling some AC goodness: pizza at Tony Boloney’s, mussels and Belgian beer at Mussel Bar, then cocktails and duck fat fries at Whiskey Village. Not a bad way to spend a January afternoon…We also sampled a new donut place in Toms River called Uncle Dood’s. The toppings were pretty tasty, but the donuts themselves were on the small side. Hope they work on the consistency of their donut sizes…Catching up on some recent comings and goings: Chef Geoff Johnson is on the move again, now plying his skeelz at Roman Grill in Linwood…Back at Atlantic Bar & Grill in Seaside Park is Chef Mike Jurusz, now as both chef and owner…Crab’s Claw Inn in Lavallette will be reopeneing on February 1st… That date will also be the debut of Chef William Gilbo at Geraghty’s Pub & Restaurant in Burlington

Blogging Out Hunger

A food bank has been created (temporarily) on Route 70 in Cherry Hill.

And in other food news this past week…

Five-dollar foot-long? Two Jersey guys say not so fast! And Subway says it’s sorry.

The midnight bar closing rule for Point Pleasant Beach? Gone.

And it looks like Pinelands Brewing has finally found a home in Little Egg Harbor Twp.
