Or…at least some of it.
There’s actually quite a lot of St Patrick’s Day stuff that will be taking place this upcoming weekend. In fact, I can pretty much guarantee that if it’s a location that serves alcohol, there will be something green going on at that location this weekend. With that in mind, let’s look at some St. Patty’s Day events that have some interesting food things a-happenin’…
Some Irish pubs, perhaps? Oh, that would be too obvious. That’s just what you’d expect, right?
Sure, ok. Let’s go to some Irish pubs.
Tipperary Pub in Lakehurst has been getting some nice mentions lately, and they will certainly be celebrating the wearing of the green this weekend with all the trimmings you need: corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, lots of beer and – of course – whiskey. Over 70 kinds of whiskey, evidently.
Cattle ‘n Clover will be a big part in Wildwood’s 2nd Annual Block Party this weekend. First up, a celebration of the restaurant’s 1-year anniversary on March 15. Then, the Block Party kicks in, or should I say runs in with the 5K Cattle Drive taking place. A Kegs ‘n Eggs breakfast will be served after the race on Saturday as well as on Sunday.
You know the Dubh Linn Square locations will be all over St Patty’s Day. And they are! Both locations (Bordentown and Cherry Hill) will be serving up a true Irish breakfast on Sunday along with other interesting spins on Irish fare throughout the weekend. At the Bordentown location there will even be an Irish potato throwing contest to boot…or throw.
The British Chip Shop in Haddonfield will also be getting into the act. On the menu that day will be corned beef and cabbage, Guinness burgers and colcannon boxty.
Corned beef and cabbage will also be on the menu at Under The Moon Cafe in Bordentown, along with some other treats such as potato and leek soup, shepherd’s pie and drunker Irish stew.
The Runaway Chefs in Millville will be serving some Irish specials on Sunday, including a Black & Tan pork with spicy ale stew that sounds just wonderful. If not for you, they will have corned beef and cabbage as well as their regular menu available.
A traditional Irish buffet will be available on Sunday at Salem City Cafe for $19.95 per person, and for $3 you get your green beer.
The Pop Shop in Collingswood will indulge the sweet tooth in you for your St Patty’s Day celebration. Green Betty’s. Lucky in Love Milkshakes, Leprechaun Candy Sundaes and Shamrock Cupcakes will be available.
And Sharrott Winery in Blue Anchor will be having a weekend St Patty’s Day celebration with Irish taste treats to go along with their wines.
In need of a pub crawl this weekend? Here are a few ideas…
The Wildwoods will have the Erin Express taking place on Saturday. The aforementioned Cattle ‘n Clover will be a part of it, along with places such as Goodnight Irene’s, Tucker’s Pub, Westy’s Irish Pub and many others. The express will be running from 8PM to midnight, and for $5 you’ll get a wristband and can ride all evening.
Haddon Township has its own pub crawl, thankyouverymuch, and they will be rockin’ it on Sunday. Their line up includes Keg & Kitchen, Pour House and Treno. The pub crawl goes from 2PM to 8PM and the shuttle service is free.
And then there’s Revel, which will be having a pub crawl on Saturday and Sunday for $45 a person. All of the eateries will be participating, so that should be lots of fun. If you’re down in AC on Saturday, you can catch the parade at 1PM.
