Eating, Drinking and Cooking in South Jersey This Weekend (3/22-24)

The calendar says it’s the beginning of spring, and while the weather is still on the cold side of things it makes us think of wanting to get out of the house. The wineries in South Jersey must be feeling the spring bug, because they are giving you reasons to get out of the house this weekend.

Natali Vineyards is having an Uncorked Saturday from 12PM to 5PM.  Anbd what they are uncorking are past vintages in order to ger ready for the 2012 vintages. Tastings, tours and music will all be a part of the festivities.

This weekend is one of the Cape May Wine Trail weekends that happen throughout the year. Lunch and a tour of three Cape May wineries (including Willow Creek) are a part of the package. The trail is $75 per person.

Tomasello Winery in Hammonton is having a Wine and Artisan Cheese Pairing on Saturday, with sessions at 2PM and 4PM. The cost for each is session is $25 per couple. (Couple of what I don’t know.)

And on Saturday and Sunday, it’s a France on Tour weeklend at Bellview Winery in Landisville. Pair up Bellview’s French wine stylings with some lovely French nibbles.

For the rest of the weekend, you got a little of this and a little of that.

Friday night down in 32588_621919927834206_1654835793_nSomers Point it’s Fitzpatrick’s Food Flight Taste of the South at 6PM for $50 a person. Friday is also the last day for Collingswood Restaurant Week and SJ Hot Chefs Spring Restaurant Week. Keep in mind that some locations may extend the days they are offering their special menus.

Saturday is Beers on the Boards at Martell’s Tiki Bar on the boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach. Sample many local and other craft brews and see how the boardwalk rebuild is going. Sessions are from 12:30 to 4PM and 6PM to 9:30PM.

Staying in Point Pleasant, Sunday is A Taste of Point at Forte Unique Cuisines from 1PM to 5PM. It’s a fundraiser for the local high school and features restaurants from the area. The cost is $35 per person.

And peeking into Monday, Steve and Cookie’s By the Bay in Margate is having its annual Passover Dinner. The special dinner menu will be available on Tuesday as well.

If you care to venture out of South Jersey…

How about learning to cook Senegalese in NYC? Or maybe just a chili cookoff in Fishotwn?
