It’s strawberries!

It’s beer!

It’s restaurant weeks!

It’s all happening starting this weekend!

The busy season is here if you’re into food.

Let’s start with the Strawberries!strawberries. It’s the second weekend of Johnson’s Corner Farm Strawberry Festival in Medford. The festival will run from 3PM to 8PM on Saturday. Down in Cape May County, you have a choice of strawberry festivals (or go to both – I won’t stop you): the Strawberry Festival at Wilbraham Park in West Cape May from 9AM to 5PM, and the Strawberry Festival at Gandy Farmstead on Tyler Road in Greenfield (Upper Twp) from 10AM to 4PM. The Greater Bridgeton Amish Market is havings its first annual Strawberry Festival & Craft Show from 9AM to 4PM. Later on Saturday it’s the Strawberry Festival at the Rancocas Community Center on Main Street. The hours from this festival are from 5PM to 8PM.

Haddon Pub Fest! Now for the beer. This weekend starts the massive Philly Beer Week that will run through June 9. There are so many events going on that all I can tell you is to look on their claendar and plan accordingly. South Jersey is part of PBW as well, and this Saturday is the Haddon Pub Fest, with local watering holes such as Keg & Kitchen and The Pour House being stops along the way. The pub crawl will go from 2PM to 7PM. And yes, there will be a free shuttle service. Check the schedule for other events taking place on this side of the Delaware.

Now onto the restaurants weeks. June is certainly the month for them here in South Jersey, and they seem to be proliferating. This Saturday brings together the culinary forces of Burlington and Bristol PA, two towns connected by a bridge that just happens to be named for those same two towns. It’s a Taste of Two Cities, and it will run from 12PM to 4PM and will featuire 13 different locations. The cost is $20 per person. Saturday is the kickoff day for the Flavor of Sea Isle Restaurant Week, which will run through June 8. On Sunday, Cape May Restaurant Week starts up and participating restaurants will be offering 3-course dinners for $25/$35 and 2-course lunches for $15. And on Monday it’s a Taste of South Jersey at Adventure Aquarium in Camden, which is from 6PM to 8PM and costs $25 per person, as well as the start of 7 Mile Restaurant Week in Avalon.

If that wasn’t enough for you, you still have on Saturday…

* Summerfest on Bridge Avenue and Beaver Dam Road in Point Pleasant,

* Community Clambake, Barbecue and Penny Auction at Peace Lutheran Church in Galloway,

* Delaware Bay Day at the Bayshore Discovery Project in Bivalve, and

* Wine and Music Festival at Sharrott Winery in Blue Anchor, which will also happen on Sunday.

More still? Sure! For Sunday, check out…
