Small Bites for November 10, 2019

The

Three weeks in a row! So what was mention in last night’s opening segment?

  • Cicala is a new Southern Italian restaurant at the Divine Lorraine hotel on North Broad St. Eater Philly is reporting that the opening date for Chef Joe Cicala’s new place is this Friday, November 15th. The restaurant will be open for dinner Monday through Saturday and will also offer a Sunday brunch. Philly Mag reports that much of the décor are heirlooms from the Cicala family.
  • Big news this past week was word that the Termini Family would no longer be a part of Giuseppe & Sons. According to Philly Mag, the split actually took place back in late September. So don’t go looking for Termini cannolis or any of their desserts at Giuseppe & Sone.
  • Say hello to Eeva, an all-day café and pizza place that’s coming to Kensington. This is a concept from ReAnimator Coffee that will include sourdough breads and pastries as well as wood-fired pizzas. According to Philly Mag, the location won’t be open until late this year or early 2020, but for now you can try the breads and pastries on Saturdays at the pop-up version in front of the future home.
  • A couple of closings to mention: Maison 208 on South 13th Street, and Dimiri’s has closed both of its locations in Queens Village and Northern Liberties.
  • NJ Pen reported this week that a new coffee shop, Koupa Espresso Bar, opened in Westmont. Greek pastries are also on the menu.
