The Fourth is almost upon us-and usually before a big holiday like this one there’s a “calm before the storm”. Not so this weekend. Is putting on an absolutely HUGE Independence Day celebration in Philadelphia lasting more than a week which will include performances by the Roots, Queen Latifah and Darryl Hall, but you’ll have to investigate those on your own (it’s just too big to write about here). The stuff going on at Penn’s Landing is more manageable-and is more food oriented:
Friday, from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., begins the 3-day food extravaganza, Taste of Philadelphia; but along with all the foodie hubbub are world-class jazz and blues artists, such as Laura Izibor, performing on the RiverStage.
