Eating, Drinking and Cooking in South Jersey This Weekend: July 4th Edition (7/5-7)

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July and had a day filled with fireworks, grilled meats and veggies and a cold beverage (or five). For this weekend, it looks like a hot and sunny one, so find a body of water somewhere, and maybe another one of those aforementioned cold beverages. There are a few eating events taking place…

We’re now into the county fair season, and the Cumberland County Fair has been going on this week at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds in Millville. The fair will run through Saturday, and on Friday it’s the Pork & Chicken Barbecue from 4:30PM to 7PM. The ‘cue will cost you $10.

Next week begins the Ocean County Fair at Robert J Miller Air Park in Berkeley Twp. I know that one can get fried Oreos and funnel cake on the boardwalk, but somehow it just tastes better at the fair. Call me crazy.

Also next week is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival in Hammonton, a festival that goes back to 1875, for goodness sake!

One more event for you” Saturday is the Blueberry Festival at Mood’s Farm Market in Mullica Hill. If you go, make sure you check out the dessert competition.

If you care to venture of of South Jersey this weekend…

In Philly, it’s the Wawa Welcome America! festival this weekend, and part of the festivities is Taste of Philadelphia. And no, it’s not things you can find in a Wawa that’s being sampled…so knock off that thinking!
